Everyone is gathering the things that they will need to make the totem poles. Tiffi gets a phone call from Yeti just as she is about to leave her house.
“Hi Tiffi, I’m not going to be able to make it today,” says Yeti. “I woke up with such a bad headache. I think I ate too much chocolate last night. I am going to rest for a bit and if the headache goes away then I’ll just meet up with you later. I will call you either way.”
Tiffi hopes that he feels better. She tells Kimmy that Yeti might not make it but he will call Tiffi one way or the other. The girls leave and head on over to meet the others.
• Cut the bottle caps of the milk containers
• Paint these containers
• Paint your picture on the milk container
• Cut out the wings and paint them
• The support poles will have to be put in the base
Once everything is dry we can then assemble them. Do you think it would be better if we each did a certain thing like one person cuts the caps off and another paints the containers. Another could be cutting out the wings and another paint them. Then we can each do our own picture on a milk container and then we can all assemble them. We have enough material to make 3 totem poles.”
Chewy suggests that they can start this project like an assembly line as Tiffi suggests and if that doesn’t work out then each can do their own from start to finish.
And so they get busy for the next few hours creating their Native American images.
Let’s continue - Time to assemble them
Start at the beginning – Let’s build a totem pole!
