Yeti and Chewy learn all about magic

Early one morning Yeti decides to take a short cut through Bamboo Forrest and ends up bumping into Chewy. But that’s not all that he finds there.

“Psst … Chewy, who are those people?” asks Yeti.

Chewy is not really sure but he tells Yeti that they all just popped out of that magical book. The two of them decide to walk over to those characters to find out what’s going on.

“Excuse me, who are you and what are you doing here?” asks Yeti.

The three of them are so engrossed in their conversation. It looks like they are trying to help that sad wizard. The magician who is all dressed up with a hat and cape sees the two of them and walks over to explain things.

“We all come from the land of magic,” says the magician. “We don’t know how we got here but it seems that we just popped out of the story book. You see this older wizard is feeling sad today because he feels that he’s getting too old to perform any tricks. We are trying to convince him that it’s not true. Once you’re a wizard or a magician you remain with your powers for life.”

Yeti asks what a magician does……….

‘A magician, also known as a mage, warlock, witch, wizard/wizardess, enchanter/enchantress, sorcerer/sorceress or spell caster, is someone who uses or practices magic derived from supernatural, occult, or arcane sources. Magicians are common figures in works of fantasy, such as fantasy literature and role-playing games, and enjoy a rich history in mythology, legends, fiction, and folklore. ’ (Source)

What Are the Differences Between a Magician, Illusionist, and Mentalist?,” asks Chewy.

‘People often use the terms magician, illusionist, and mentalist interchangeably, but there are some differences between what these three titles mean. A magician is an overarching title in the world of magic. Technically a mentalist and an illusionist could both be considered magicians, but generally speaking, a magician is someone who works on a smaller scale and may or may not admit they are completing illusions, not magical acts. An illusionist is someone who performs grand illusions like disappearing humans or vehicles. They are open to their audience about their intentions and do not necessarily claim to be magic. A mentalist often tells the audience that they have paranormal powers. They do tricks that bend the mind, sometimes levitating or mind reading during their performance.’ (Source

The magician asks Yeti and Chewy if they’d like to learn the history behind the magic. Of course!  And so they pay attention to what the magician has to say.
