Oh, BTW @Elsa. If you don't mind, I'll bookmark the part of your story about the "Top 5 challenges in translation". I've faced those challenges here, as so have many others, so it will be super handy and enriching if/when things "get lost in translation".

I love how you explained it all and think all of us Community Members would benefit from reminding ourselves that these things happen & are expected when different languages, cultures & visions of life come together.

Wonderful story @Elsa, I wasn’t getting my emails for the past few days and not getting any tags, my apologies for not responding earlier 🥰 everything was off but I finally started getting emails again 😊and now it’s my computer who decided not to work 🙄 good thing I have a good tech guy and he doesn’t charge us anything 😁 yay!

Language translation can get tricky indeed 😂 even in the same language, some words mean different things in different countries, now add different languages 😅 Sometimes, you need to know where the person is from to understand the word they are trying to say. My Canadian French is definitely not the same as someone in France 😉

@Nat09 Canadian French? Do you live in Quebec? I was born and raised in Montreal but back then we only learned how to read and translate French. We didn't learn how to communicate so I have difficulty when everyone speaks quickly.

Yes @Elsa, I live in Québec. I was born in Ottawa, Ontario and moved in Aylmer ( now called Gatineau) when I was 7. My parents are french, I went to school in french. I just recently moved back in Gatineau, I was in the country ( still in Québec) for 16 years.

    @frenioz00 of course !!

Any collaboration is well accepted by me, always 🤗

@Elsa , I don't know if you know that your browser can translate automatically, you don't need a translator. If you didn't know, let me know and I'll explain it to you.

And another anecdote 🤫 Throughout my life I have gotten into various problems for releasing caged animals, and I have no regrets at all, I would do it again and continue to do it. She also had problems when she was a child, she brought home any injured animals. I have raised my children with these values, so my house always looks like a zoo 🤣🤣

I have a better idea for you! Why don't you create a blog explaining how to use a translator in the browser. You might want to include Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Edge. I wouldn't bother with Internet Explorer anymore. When it's done I can always add your blog link somewhere in the story.

  • Love it, @hechicerilla! I "collect" injured & abandoned animals myself so I guess our houses are "the good kind" of zoo! ❣️

Oops, I appreciate your idea and your offer, but I couldn't do it. I use Chrome and I only know how to handle that browser. I don't know anything about the other browsers. In Chrome's navigation bar there are three small dots at the top right. If you click on them, a menu like this opens 👇

    .

You can move that list up, in line number 9 it says "translate", you give it and this will appear at the bottom of the page.

The language in which the page is written will appear on the left poster, the right one will show the language you want to translate into. This bar also has the three little dots on the right to set the languages, has 108 languages

    😀

I read that Isa was offered to do a report on the translation. I would like it if I could do it. I would prefer PC work. Because using the tablet is more difficult. Perhaps Isa could explain it from the cell phone. So we could both write a report !!! Would that be okay?🤗

You are absolutely right. It is very difficult for me to communicate in a language that I do not know.

It's hard for me not because I need to formulate my messages in google translate. It's hard for me because Google translator doesn't always translate correctly.

And situations arise when they misunderstood me, or I misunderstood someone.

If the interlocutor and I do not understand each other, then we will not find a common language. This is bad.

    The problem exists.
