Hello Friends!
When we started the Friend of the Month award, we were excited about the possibility of rewarding our Candy Crush Friends players for being willing to help, fun and kind, as we say in the initial post of this thread. We didn't picture it as a monthly "competition", but as a recognition to the Community in general, focusing on one player every month. In other words, it shouldn't matter who gets their avatar in our Community Scrapbook first or second.
In that initial post, we also made clear the whole Community would nominate, and Mods and CM's would make the final decision. The reason why is that some players may be overlooked because they are kind and helpful, but don't join in contests or other fun threads- which is ok. Others might be more fun-loving, and less technically skilled to give tips on device issues- that's ok, too.
In the last months though, the joy and excitement about this thread has decreased. Players who have not been chosen (yet!) feel frustrated and singled out, and other players feel their "vote" is not being taken into account. The fact that CM and Mods (who have the responsibility to manage and moderate the Community) have the final word is not generally understood nor accepted.
That's why the Friend of the Month has not been chosen for January or February. Our scrapbook is on hold, but if you have any idea on how we can turn it into something that everybody can enjoy, please comment below. We're all ears!

I know it may seem less engaging but I think that instead of posting which community members we want to nominate as friend of the month on this thread we could PM our nominations to @Lola_Pop @DieOmimi and @MountainMom
Personally I do not see this idea as a permanent fix due to the engagement aspect that I already mentioned above but at least friend of the month might be able to get back on track in the short term.

To make it fair and so everyone has a chance of being friend of the month, if not now maybe next month. Instead of nominations, (because I have seen a lot of friends nominating friends not for the reason they should be nominated), I think every month a new player should be chosen by random draw or something like that. This way it's fair and everyone has a chance of winning. Eventually all players will be friend of the month. New names will be put in each month. If you have won in the past you have had your time to shine now it's someone else's turn to shine for the month. Thank you for hearing us out❤

Hi @Lola_Pop. I do think that it was an excellent idea to have a Friend of the Month, although I may be biased because I'm one of them and never expected it. These are my thoughts.
People are always more likely to vote for those who have helped them (and still do) and have become friends as a result of this - and some have been around the Community for a long time. I personally have only nominated those who have helped me and/or have been very friendly towards me since I was a newbie and I think that's the norm.
The main problem is that some worthy of nomination (especially in the technical field) have never really been encountered in the Community by some of those putting forward nominations, as they don't participate in contests or other threads and therefore they would not be known to them.
As nominations are simply that and not votes, it doesn't seem worthwhile more than one player nominating a particular person, as the number of nominations and the reasons don't have to be taken into account by the CM and GMs.
If it is to continue, a list of suitable nominees could be put forward by the CM and GMs (as has happened elsewhere), but this takes the process out of the hands of the players - or it can be left as it is, but with consideration needing to be given to the players' nominations.
I don't think a random draw is a sound idea (it's bad enough with contests where some people participate once, are announced as winners of gold bars and are never seen again).
A PM to the GM or CMs would be a better idea, but again would prevent ordinary members from knowing who is being nominated and for what reasons - and that appeared to be the purpose of the nominations.

@Lola_Pop Myself being nominated a lot for this Friend of the month feel that the member's should have the right to nominate the player, and give the "Reason why " they should be the Friend of the month and the "reason" should be the be the "first " thing taken in point for the CM and GM'S to decide the "one " who should be honored for that month.....
If no member's come forth to be nominated how is it the fault of those who have processed their nomination ? You do state anyone can nominate anyone and please give the reason for your choice and you can even nominate yourself, correct ? So why don't they ? Is it the fault of those who do nominate their choice's or not as I see it....correct me if I am wrong my friend......
@Lola_Pop I am in no way saying or preying for Friend of the month or even think I deserve it truthfully as I believe there are more deserving player's among us here but also very shy, quite and even backward's.....and i even nominated them myself @siti_payung my (badges buddy);reason is because she is always playing Friends game with our Team, always involved with the Friends contest, she was our outstanding Team contributor in the Friends/Jelly Games who really brought our Team though at the end ( Thank you Siti ) and she is more than deserving of this Honor and most of all she is my friend and friend to a lot of people here in the Community......these are the reason that Friend of the month should be desided on....

@Lola_Pop I commend you for the ability to see that the purpose of this award has fostered some resentment and disappointment when it was really intended to further join and unite our community. Perhaps the thing to do would be for the mods and gms to chose a member each month to celebrate. Not having the community nominate members. Instead of "nominations" members could express words of thanks for those who have helped them. The Member of the Month award (MoM) does not ask for community member input.
And to be honest it does sort of seem as if the community majority nomination is being overlooked. My personal nomination is some one who helps me all of the time. He is always there to give me advice and encouragement. He encouraged me to play ccfs in the begining and guided me as I began on my candy path. It would be a disservice to him if I nominated another community member for this award before he has been awarded it, and I would continue to nominate this person.

Anyway, thank you David @me6412 for nominated me and I am truly touch by the reasons you gave. I am a bless to have you as a friend on the community and I believe we can be best friend in real life too. Thank you again for your sweet words.
