Main menu/ play button unresponsive - game freezing

When opening the game and tapping the play-button the game freezes or the button is unresponsive on some older devices.


The issue is under investigation, but meanwhile there is a workaround:

-Make sure the game is open and connected to your Facebook or King account on the device you play on and where the issue happens.

-Open the game on another newer device with Android 5 or higher or an iOS 10 or later version. Alternatively log in to your account on King.com on a computer and open the game there.

-After you've logged in and are able to open the game and play a level on the other newer device or on King.com, please restart the app on the device where the game gets stuck on.

-The game should now work and let you play from the main menu on all devices.

    Hi, I'm new to the community. I cannot load the app. Is anyone experiencing the same issue.

    Hello @becks1410 I am not too sure what you mean when you say you can't load the app. Generally you just go to your app store and download the Candy app.

    Can you provide a bit more information about your issue please?

    What platform are you playing on? iOS, Android, or Windows 10? What device are you using? PC, mobile, tablet, or Kindle?

    Can you provide a screenshot of any error messages you are receiving?

    Hi Alienscar, I have candy crush on my ipad and have had this on there fir many years. I went to play yesterday as usual and it wouldn't open.i pressed play but nothing happens. This morning I have tried again and just the same. Hope this helps.

    Exactly the same is happening to me! Just press Play and nothing happens! iPad as well, and played on it for years too... 😩

    Hi, for the last twelve hours or so the game won't start. I get to the play button but it's not responding. I've reloaded the game four or five times and restarted my iPad the same number but there's no difference. 

    Hopefully you can sort this out.

    Hi, thanks for that. I've done almost all of the things suggested but to no avail. The game had just updated when this problem appeared.

    @becks1410 & @CRR2012 I can't find it now, but I am sure there was a post about issues with Candy Crush and iOS.

    Hopefully @Crazy Cat Lad may be able to tell you if there is an ongoing issue with iOS devices and Candy Crush.

    If he can't help you then both of you should ask about your issue in the Support area as you will get more help there than I can give you.

    @nickbrewster something similar happened to me yesterday on my Android tablet. The game started, but the play button couldn't be used as it was dead.

    All I did clear was close my game, clear my cache and restart my device. This seemed to work for me, and when my device restarted I was able to use the play button.

    Hi latest update just updated now when I press play button nothing happens.Ive tried uninstalling then reinstalling but nothing on my ipad.
