I use to travel a lot when I was younger. I've been to New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington, Nevada, Florida and many other states. It was a blast!

  • I would have to say my great adventure was when we went to south Carolina to myrtle beach and on our way back we went to Tennessee to the great smokey mountains. Beautiful country down there of course I live in a neighboring state kentucky so it wasn't a long trip to Tennessee but going to the Indian reservation and all the little shops was a blast ๐Ÿ˜‚ of course this was before the pandemic since that happened I have not traveled any it's about time to travel again ๐Ÿค—

My sister and I took are families "Up North" and rented a cottage in Michigan's KeWeenaw Peninsula on Lake Superior. Not much adventure on this trip but Michigan's Great Lakes and surroundings are beautiful and fun to explore.

I love this topic. Iโ€™m living my great adventure now. My husband and I along with our 7 year old are traveling across the country. We are on a 21 day road trip. Weโ€™re seeing lots of historic places on our path through Arizona- New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, and Tennessee. โค๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ

I think adventurous must be my middle name. When I joined the Navy their motto was "Join the Navy and see the world". I took that seriously and managed to get stationed all over the world including 4 European countries, Japan, and the Middle East. I took advantage of living in all those different locations to travel as much as I could and I am also lucky that my work has also allowed me to travel to different locations.

I think one of the adventures my family and I really enjoyed was when we went on a Safari in South Africa, we were on the east coast very near the border of the country and spent 3 days and night in a huge private reserve and rode in open air jeeps and got 'up close and personal' to a pride of lions (luckily they had recently fed), giraffes, elephants, rhinos, hippos, wildebeest, and even saw a mother Cheetah and her two baby kits playing in the grass. We also saw plenty of monkeys (better lock your cabin or they will get inside and make a mess) and plenty of various types of deer/antelope etc.

We went on day and night drives and even went on a walk where we were taught how to identify the prints and scat of the different animals.

I really wan to go back on Safar - but this time I would like to go further North to Tanzania and see the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿจ๐Ÿ’•

    Hi,

Just before the pandemic. My good friend and I did a 3 week road trip to New Orleans. And the year before that we spent 2 weeks in Hawaii. Since the pandemic we slowed down quite a bit with our travels. I am really hoping we will start traveling again soon. =(

@Crazy Cat Lad this is a fun topic. I love reading about everyone's adventures. @Diamond_Lim thank you for the tag

A fun adventure I had was when I was in a co ed veterinary explorer Scout post. We went back packing for about 10 days at the boy Scout ranch called Philmont in New Mexico. The ranch is about 400 square miles in total wilderness. I got to experience many cool things like coal mining, mountain/ rock climbing/ repelling. Climbing up trees with spikes on your shoes. We visited a saloon town and got to have pack mules for a couple of days. The views were amazing! At one point I encountered a black bear. He was about 10 feet away from me. Thank goodness he continued on his way without incident. Another fun thing about this adventure was that Philmont used to be exclusively for boy Scouts. The year I went they had recently included explorer scouts. I was one of the very few females hiking the mountains

I traveled to many countries I think maybe over 80 a big part of them was for my jobs. I have been to all continents except Australia. I had a lot of adventures and cannot choice just one of them.ย I have a lot of photo albums from the period that were not yet digital photos and I scan them occasionally and besides I have a disc on which I keep photos from the last twenty years. I will not write about these adventures I will write about a ceremony that took place after a conference where I met a real King, King of Swaziland. In this ceremony the king chooses a new queen for those who already had him. Thousands of girls pass in front of him in groups dressed in tribal clothes and hope that one of them will be the newly elected queen.

The king with warriors in battle attire

    Candidates pass before the King

Some of the thousands of candidates
