Hello @MufMuf unfortunately the issue of adverts crashing the game and producing a black screen is an issue that King don't seem to be able to fix. All you can do is start your game and play the level again.

When I pressed the “watch ad” button, the screen blacked out and couldn’t return to the game neither
Hi there @BklynCwgrl2022 Which level range are you playing? We could give you some tips depending on this.
King want players to spend money on the game and therefore have tailed down the help with free boosters and ads that are given to players. A lot of players are finding it hard to carry on playing, but I would advise against spending any real money. If you do the game gets even harder and the freebies disappear altogether.
The video ad feature as all ads and promotional features is still a test feature in the game, which means that some of you can get Lives, while others can get Boosters or other items from this feature.
This also means that the video ads will not always be available and not found in all player's games or on all devices.
So if you at the moment are missing the ads in your game, just stay tuned and keep an eye in the game to see when the ads are back.
When will we get something that gives us boosters or lives? I'm having a hard time passing levels without.
