Since you picked team Yeti, we know that you do have the event in your game! There must have been a temporary glitch!
When you open the game tomorrow, I would suggest you to follow these steps ➡️ Replay an old level that has Blue candies -- win or lose, it should not matter -- now go back to map and see the Event icon pops-up in left side of the screen (it should) -- if it didn't, please replay the level again and now win it.
I haven't been active in the game from past couple of weeks! Still it worked for me. So, it should work for you too👍️
