Nearly ALL REWARD ADS do not play. Additional LIFE ADS DO PLAY

I have been playing Candy Crush Saga on my iPad for years and are currently on level 6328.

I am frustrated with an anomoly that has started to happen over the last few weeks—and have never encountered before: When an opportunity for either more moves at the end of a game, or a bonus reward prior to the start of a game, when I select “Play Ad”, a black full screen with a small circled “X” (to close the black Ad window) appears and NO Ad plays. I close the window and no reward is ever received. This happens 99% of the time or moe. Rarely one of the sponsored game or Apple ads will play…but all others do not.

However, all addl life ads play all the time…so I do not understand why nearly 100% of the reward ads do not play anymore when selected. I have notified King Support and have received no answers or solution to this problem.

my game is updated to the laterst version, my iPad IOS is up to date, and I have exited and restarted the game app as well as shut down and rebooted my iPad without success in resolving this.

I loaded the game on my old iphone which did not have the latest Apple IOS update installed (my iPad is up-to-date)…..drum roll….

All ads work perfectly on my iPhone. You were correct. It is on my end, but darned if I know what is causing the issue. I will examine it closer and see if I can identify and correct my iPad.

UPDATE: I deleted the app on my ipad that was the latest version—then downloaded the Candy Crush app again, and after sign-in, everything is now working properly, playing ALL ads. Go figure.

If there is any chance you could login to another device it would good see if your issue persists. Do you also own an iPhone?

I have the identical issue, only on my iPad but not my iPhone or computer. I have reported it several times and all I get is a standard, not useful, list of possible solutions. I wish the game developers would find a fix!

What was really stumping me was that the Candy Crush Saga app was up-to-date, but I guess so many changes have been made over the years that what I needed was a delete and redownload of the app to clean out some of the errant code.

Go figure indeed! Glad you finally got the issue sorted.

When I used the word“widespread” I wasn’t referring to other players…I was referring to the amount of differnt ads (or the same one repeating) over the last few weeks. A poor choice of word probably.

There is no ad-blocker installed. I only have played on the same iPad Pro. I'm puzzled too and frustrated.

Hi @Deadbug I find this issue odd as at the moment you are the only person that has highlighted it. If it were widespread as you claim I would expect far more posts on the issue. You only have to look at the Chocolate Box and Sugar Star banner issues to see that once an issue occurs every man and his dog posts about it.

Have you got another device you could login to and see if the issue follows your ID.

Also just as a 'belt & braces' kind of approach if you have an ad blocker try disabling it.

Why, after functioning flawlessly WITHOUT EXCEPTION FOR YEARS, would only the free booster ads from 99% of all advertisers (except Apple and sponsored game) fail to play and immediately display a black full screen popup window with a small “X” in the extreme upper left corner allowing the window to be closed?

I'm not “buying” that explanation. I'm not talking about the random ad not playing—virtually evry one of ONLY FREE BOOSTERS DO NOT PLAY. This indicates something more widespread and possibly intentional than you’re explanation adresses…which is why I want to keep this open and unanswered for the time being.

I really understand your position, but you must understand that there is no possible solution to this problem with ads. It just works like this 🤷

They are test features, so they often fail, and in most cases it is not a problem from King, but from the advertiser or other external factors. Thank you and keep enjoying

Thanks for clarifying…I'm marking the issue as not answered, because I want the studio to develop a fix. I've seen similar posts (but not my exact one) get a “hope King will resolve soon” wishes only to see that months go by without resolution. I'll hope they address this soon. Thank you.

Yes i knew what you meant as a few have had same issue. I believe this has been reported but as the weekend it probably will not get seen till Monday. So believe we are just going to have to be patient and hope the game studio can resolve the issue next week

Thank you for the reply—I have read similar answers in the community before I joined and posted. What bothers me about my situation is that the only Ads affected are for free rewards, bonuses, etc. ALL of the ads for Free lives play just fine.

It is just the end-of-game bonus moves, Cinema, and Free boosters ads at start of game that CONSISTENTLY do not play. I'm talking about all ads except the small handful I mentioned in my original post.

Its always been the case that every now and again people with ads feature issues with certain ads not playing correctly. All you can do is make sure you keep your game up to date and hope the game studio rectifies any issues with the ads feature. other than this there is not much else we can advise you, but you are not the only one suffering with issues with Ads not playing

ADs not loading
I recently downloaded my Candy crush Saga after about 5months and I am seriously dissatisfied with the ads. They don't work anymore for freebies and it's just taking my time and data. Please help
