We love Halloween here. The neighbors usually get together at one house. We all bring out candy and have tables in front with all the candy on it. We have treats for the kids and wine for the adults (if they want it). The best part of Halloween is the little kids. Love their costumes and how excited they are. Just a fun time for all in the neighborhood
Hello everyone my best memory of Halloween is when I was a kid I dressed up like a bum and I used some of my dads clothing because I was small so my mom stuffed pillows and clothes to help make them fit a little bit better
Hi @QueenB my favourite is the horror movies! Spooky...
lots have changed with the holiday... but the weather being bearable to walk miles in... a quarter of your home town walking the same sidewalks and visiting the same homes saying the same phrase for hours on end.... the amount of sweets brought home inspected and the one for you one for you one for you 10 for me counting method to drive any child insane and the counter to the hospital with diabetes several years down the road.. Halloween parties at school.. Halloween had been chipped at to the point of the hassle for an hour trip in the freezing cold to the few homes still celebrating cause no one goes out on their block that past year...bah hum .....um boo?

My memories was when I was in grammar school. We used to dress up and go door to door with large grocery paper bags and get them filled up with assorted candies and then we count all the candies when we got home. The neighborhood playground would kick off the evening with a bomb fire. Now we just have pizza and watch horror movies.

I don't celebrate Halloween as enthusiastically as I used to cuz not many kids go out anymore.You are right though, seeing the costumes π» and the delight on their faces or giggles π€ ...does make it all worthwhile. I do miss that. π
I do try to watch all of the horror movies that I can π§π§... mostly with the lights on. π€£

@QueenB
I don't celebrate Halloween. But I found a costume on the net that I think a bit scary.
@QueenB Happy Halloween to everyone in the Community.....
Myself and my son we go days before Halloween out into our fields and choose a pumpkin or several and carve them up to place them around the front porch and also inside the house too....We go shopping for a Halloween costume for my son as he loves to pick out usually a very scary one and then on last Friday of school before Halloween they have a party and parade where all the children march around the block and show off their costumes to those who line up along the parade percussion to watch and take pictures of them.....very wonderful time for the school and Community......
Then on Halloween night we go Trick and Treating around the local Community mostly to the one's we go to every year as they look forward to seeing the children showing up in their costumes and they treat the treaters very well....

I grew up in Michigan and they have an interesting tradition the night before Halloween called Devil's Night.
Devil's Night made its way to Detroit in the 1930s and 1940s.[2]Β Traditionally, city youths engaged in a night of mischievous or petty criminal behavior, usually consisting of minor pranks or acts of mildΒ vandalismΒ (such asΒ egging, soaping or waxing windows and doors, leaving rotten vegetables or flaming bags of canine feces on stoops, orΒ toilet paperingΒ trees and shrubs) which caused little or no property damage.

I don't celebrate Halloween but 4 years ago I was in US during Hallowen and was great
Hi @QueenB my favourite memories were as a child, when Halloween was a new concept here, we didn't have pumpkins, and we carved a swede, which was a lot harder, and made costumes from what we could find.
My favourite memory is from when i was in grade 1 and my school held a halloween night, I went as a witch and remember it was my first time bobbing for applesπ
