On what is “residency” based in All Stars?

If being a “resident” is based on the IP where I’m playing, then I won’t be able to compete in the next round of All Stars, since I’m traveling to a country that’s not on the list…

But if programming is based on the App Store country for example, then I should be able to continue the competition.

The terms and conditions “country of residence” needs to be specified. Is it indeed residency or is it “current location”? I have seen this question pop up with more people who are traveling… no answer yet though.

PS Please don’t answer by sending a link to the T&C or the info pages… the answer isn’t there.

If it is just a week then it won't be a problem @Nicetomeetyou as you will then be playing the remaining rounds from 'home'. The Final round starts 27th April.

Your place of residency isn't based on IP in this instance. Your IP does change from location to location and country to country, but what counts here is your nationality. When/if you get to complete the in-game form you will be able to say that your country of normal residency is Switzerland and that is all that counts as far as I can see.

You are right to be sceptical though as this is King we are talking about.

Hi @Nicetomeetyou I agree that you should be okay with All Stars popping up in your game as usual so long as you don't change your country in Settings, which you would not do whilst on holiday. I have two points to add: Firstly I have experienced the loss of live events in my game during a holiday that involved a time zone change on my device. I am not sure of which mechanism King use to kick players out who change the clock back, but beware that this can happen. It happened to me once on a cruise on my way back to the UK when my time zone changed back.

Secondly please don't let Candy Crush ruin or take over your holiday! The next rounds will be much more competitive than the ones up to now, so it will take a lot of crushing to succeed. If you are referring to the week starting 20th April I too have a holiday booked for then and I know this means I won't be able to compete in Final Knockout week. There is no way for you to compete in that without spending every waking hour crushing Candy. Enjoy your holiday and don't waste precious time on Candy Crush when you could be having fun! This is my honest advice.

Hello @Nicetomeetyou see if my answer HERE helps you out.

Just in case here is what I wrote in the other thread you posted in

Hello @Nicetomeetyou yours is a funny situation I would say. As you are a resident of Switzerland then this makes you eligible to play. As you can see I have highlighted the relevant part of the T&Cs above. 'Normally resident' implies that you can be some place other than your normal country of residence and still be eligible for the All Stars. In other words what counts is your nationality.

What I can't be sure on is whether or not King will arrange travel for you from a country other than where you normally reside.

My guess is that they will as other why use the 'normally resident' bit of the wording, but that is just my guess.

It’s just a week trip to Cyprus, after that I’m back home. But it’s exactly during the next round. Often programming is based on “current IP”, so that’s why I’m very skeptical about the “residency” wording.
