yes I tried so many times. I turned off the wifi, put it on airplane mode, waited several minutes, nothing.

It looks like you are on a mobile phone! Did you try to switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi OR vice versa?
If you haven't yet, I would suggest you to do that! If you are on Wi-Fi, turn on the Mobile Data first, then, switch off Wi-Fi! So that, you won't lose connection to the game, which will cause you to lose the Race too!! (Vice versa if you are using Mobile Data too)!!
Other than that, I am afraid there is nothing you can do right now😢
I’m still with the app open ….in fear as I know as soon as I close it I will lost all my progress

Even though it has been few hours since you have posted your question, just wanted to find out how did it go with the Candy Royale? Did you manage to win the race and earn some Gold Bars?
The answer I get on almost all post ,is error . So hope you get answers from pro users , i am so anoid. Sorry i cant help as I could have before i lost all progress in my user .. only advise,dont play on different device+
