Level 2
I know there’s about under 2 hours before the second stage ends, but the results are basically finalized. This is essentially another rant post. After realizing I can’t beat other players 6000 levels or more below me, I gave up. I was curious about the score. Guess what? Someone who’s on level 1000 top the final score board in a span of 5 hours. Therefore, unless you have a ton of money or a bot, don’t bother playing these tournaments. The prizes is cool, but not achievable if you are past 10,000 levels and don’t have what I mentioned before. I saw a previous post mention that they are done with candy crush. I think I’m done too. The levels I’m on now are basically impossible without boosters. It used to be a fun or decent game to past time, but now it’s just stressful with how many nightmarish levels there are on each stage. This unorganized tournament was the final straw. Am I bitter about losing? Incredibly. Thinking about the time and money I spent angers me. Anyways, I know candy crush is probably laughing at this post knowing they already got money from me.
For regularly playing people who aren't rich Candy Crush can be a real money pit. Let alone if they are going to take part in a tournament with a lot of probably unfair playing competitors. I understand your rant @angel20004 and your bitterness. But don't let all of this keep you depressed too long.Because then they really got you, the money grabbers behind CC.
Could you read my most recent posts? Maybe it will help you see what this game does.
Hi @Storm15! Thank you for your comment. It is a real money pit and I’m ashamed I fell into it. I’m done playing online games like CC and will look for a hobby/activity that doesn’t cost much more or stress me out lol
Good idea @angel20004! I'm also trying to get rid of my CC addiction. 😉 But don't be ashamed of yourself. That doesn't make you any happier. Seize the day @angel20004! 🌺 Stay safe. 😊
Bots are easy for the system to auto boot, plus top players can outplay bots in the final final round if they somehow got there. Money or low levels didn't guarantee the W either, although it helps. Only thing that can guarantee a win is an exploit that some people used, but it's against the rules and if somehow they made it to the final round and won, they'll get manually reviewed anyways and it stands out. Although I agree higher than level 10,000 would make it tough. Candy Crush gets harder and harder
Don't beat yourself up. It's a fun addictive game, you're not the only person hooked on it.
Hello @pmin! Thank you for your input. I just found out about the exploit. That explains why some players had a huge jump in points, rather than King’s explanation of them simply playing offline. Though that explanation could be the case for some. I genuinely hope the people who spent the time and money without using cheats/exploits won. I think I would’ve accepted my defeat more easily had I been placed in a scoreboard with players nears my levels. I know that the amount of oranges in Candy Crush varies in each level. However, after reaching a certain point/level, the amount of nightmarish level increases exponentially making it difficult to collect oranges in a timely manner. There were also some errors other players and I notice that I won’t go into detail because this post is getting long. Hopefully the next tournament will have improvements for future players of all levels!
It was an addicting game, but I think I need to decrease my screen time haha
Yeah I know screenshots I saw of some brackets seemed to have final winners that have had very legitimate scores that they got from consistent skillfull playing, following the normal flow of the game. But even if someone seemed to finish 1st, there's a manual vetting review process that takes weeks to ensure the winner in fact earned it.
King probably gets so many 'abuse' messages that unless if they're provided proof, the automated 'offline' response is all they can really send. Maybe they make tournament structure/rule adjustments in the future, but trying to find a system that's fair for every one of the 100 million playing is a daunting task.
Yeah I saw one screenshot where all the players had legit scores close to each other. Glad to know they have a vetting process!
I know they received many ‘abuse’ messages to the point that they needed an automated and generic response. I would’ve preferred they directly addressed the video proof error of a separate issue instead of the automated message with a name placed on the bottom.
In the end, the tournament is over. I hope the winners enjoy their awesome prizes! It is a daunting task, but I think Kings can find a doable solution for future tournaments/events
Yeah I took videos as well complimentary details outlining what rulebreaking was occurring in simple terms. But even being one of the very final contestants would only get me a custom written sentence occasionally as a reply. There are likely confidentiality or perhaps other reasons where they are unable to tell you what actions they take anyways.
King is owned by Activision/Blizzard/Xbox now and the player abuse reporting process is very similar throughout. Often times you aren't even given the option to add custom details. Sadly the result of too many false reports when people are just fairly outplayed. Those systems likely need more than one report to ping an investigation. I know several players thought I was a bot during play, I'm curious to see how many reports I got.
But in the sense of a tournament with a monetary prize like Music Season....yes it's necessary to do manual vetting at the end so that someone doesn't get away with felony level theft. As for solution to this exploit.... a simple 100k level completion cap would handle it. Gaining 1-3 million each time you complete a level for extremely minimal gold is absurd.
