my candy crush is not allowing access to levels. Game / app opens to map but I can’t access levels - and candy crush screen is darkened slightly

No! Don't delete the app as you will lose all your boosters if you do. I mean just close the app. On iPad I double click the home button then swipe the app off the page. There is a similar method on iPhone, it depends which version you have. Do you never close your apps? If you don't know what this means and you always leave your apps open all the time then let us know which type of iPhone you have. You can also google to find out from Apple how to close an app.

There have been a few reports of this. Try to close the app, make sure you don't have the game open on any other device and that your game and your phone are both updated, then try to open the app again.
