Hey everyone,

Thanks again for all your feedback and for staying respectful.

The iteration we had was a work-around due to an unfortunate glitch, while the team kept working hard on a fix.

With that said, we have just managed to fix it and now you will be able to claim the throne as many times as possible. The event will still run for a day every day for the time being though.

I want to thank you all for the patience and to keep encouraging you to send feedback our way and help us make your experience better. I'll make sure we are here to read it and address it.

Hi everyone!

It looks like the pesky Bubble Gum Troll is at it again causing havoc! He has decided to temporarily change the rules and he now wants to keep his throne for longer and stop you getting his Sodalicious rewards.

What are the new rules?

You now have one chance a day to try to conquer the throne. Play the five levels to win the rewards. After crowning yourself, you will need to wait until the day after to have another shot at conquering it again.

You will not be able to sit in the throne multiple times a day. A king needs to rest!

If you have some questions around the new way the event will work for now, feel free to drop them in the comments. I'll do my best to answer each and every one of them.

The issue around Bubblegum Hill has been proven to be a bit tricky. The event is for now gone and we are working on changes to it that will help tackle this situation.

The bubble gum machine that I'm referring to is on Candy Crush SAGA....it's when you have collected enough special candies and get a prize/prizes.....it goes to that screen everytime and freezes...no way out and have to exit game and then return....it halts all progress

HI @Carole_McSherry and @rap, there is an glitch with the sending and receiving of lives from friends. It was already reported to the Candy Crush Saga studio about 4 weeks ago. Last summer it turned out to be a Facebook glitch because it was also affecting non-King games too. Facebook finally fixed it and now I'm wondering if it has come back again because it's affecting not just my King games but also 4 of my non-King games. I wrote to Facebook and I am waiting to find out if and when that will get fixed.

Regarding the freezing, perhaps you should try some troubleshooting tips. I'll post some links below but since you didn't mention computer or mobile I'm listing 3 different links for you to check it out.

Also check what version of the game you have. It should be 1.128.2.

Isn't that the point, to try and complete levels. King has become greedy. I collected all the tickets and what use to cost $19.99 now is $39. And that is without Bubble Gum Hill. Why on earth would I spend that kind of money for 24 hours getting to the end and can't play any longer until new levels are added! Will find another game and not a King game!

@ragrunberg, when you win challenges you’ll get free boosters. Like a coloured bomb, striped hammers, fish etc. (I had lost everything because I reinstalled the game)

@Xarly: like they said “We continuously offer a variety of ways to get plenty more boosters every day” will not work for those who have completed all levels.

With unlimited repeats of BGH you'd get 6 hammers each time, so even with "just" 5 repeats in a 2-hour timespan you got 30 hammers.

Do that 3 times a week, it's 90.
4 weeks a month, it's 360.

I have briefly crossed 1000 and currently hover around 920, but am sure I used well over a thousand hammers in the last 500 levels played - so I have to politely disagree about the comment on "stockpiling is useless"

Regarding the new havoc caused by BGT, for those of us who wait for 5-7 days for new levels because we are currently on level 2755, gaining the throne was the only reason to play. If the goal was reduced game play and therefore less money spent on the game, then you nailed it! I will achieve the throne once a day and then not be on the app unless new boards appear. Very sad. On a separate note, leaderboards come up for weekly and normal but it seems like overall leaderboard should say 2755.

I agree with everyone else here. Terrible move on Kings part and a true slap in the face to your most loyal players. As a person who majored in marketing I’ll tell you this is a mess and a great way to lose your core base.

NOT FIXED!!!!!.....freezing again this morning!!!!.....Not receiving lives from friends and they are not receiving lives from me!!!!!....the freezing issue halts all progress in the game!!!!

Do not like the new change or the rules they have made I don't think I would like to play this game anymore after playing till the last level so far because bubblegum gives boosters and gold which helps in clearing super hard levels for all of us I guess

@Xarly thank you for the response. Please make sure the developers are reading these comments so they know no one agrees with or wants this new change. It honestly doesn't make any sense.
It's also a little strange to me that for the first couple of days @King was claiming there were technical difficulties with bubblegum hill and only being able to play once, but now they are claiming it's a new thing they are trying out? Which is it?
I can't speak for anyone else but the only reason I still play this game is for bubblegum hill, the only reason I spend any money (way too much tbh) on this game is because of bubblegum hill. The excitement I feel when I open the game in the morning and see that troll up in the left corner has passed now. Being able to only play it once a day is a very bad move on their part if they are trying to be profitable, as you said. I have beaten all available levels and bubblegum hill is the only reason that 1) I have been able to beat these levels and 2) that I even open the game most days.
This is a really bad move, they should know that.....

The other problem for those of us who have finished all levels is that the Challenges only give us a multiplier of 1 when we chase stripes, fishes etc. I believe that if you are getting them when completing new levels your multiplier is 10? If I am correct it makes it impossible for us with no new levels to do really well in those challenges so I don’t bother. So back again to Bubblegum Hill being the only reason for us to play significant hours per day. They mention they are trying to keep their game profitable - I know for sure I am not spending any money if I’m not playing anything.

I think so too, but they want our feedback, so we can give it to them. When nobody does, nothing will change at all 😥

I think King overreached on this one, and it’s going to turn a lot of people off the game altogether.

Let the studio tell me what’s the fun of playing Soda, if you have finished all regular levels; waiting for new, only once a day having the throne and hardly can beat the challenges? I don’t like playing the finished levels over and over to win challenges. And also, tell me what’s the use for getting rewarded 1 hour playing time when you’ve completed the levels.

During the past few weeks once I beat Bubblegum hill the first time, it just won’t let me back in. I get the message “Retake the throne”, then I get pulled to this screen, but can’t play the levels again. As you can see I’m not on the throne, or one of the past rulers. My avatar is RxR

Thank you so much for all of your feedback! (And shout out to @Pummy_Raj for pointing people to where my answers are (they are placed there so that anyone new to the thread can see them highlighted).

I want to thank you all again for staying on topic and not being disrespectful. Tolerance and mature conversations are key to making a community great and we are doing that here.

That said, regarding your feedback, let me first say that it's being sent on to the studio so that they are well aware of how you feel with the change. It is an initial stage of the change. For now, it's a matter of checking how it performs and your feedback for a bit of time.

Please stay patient, my personal advice is to make the most out of it and to stay calm. Bubblegum Hill is an event that can be of great use but that is not the core of Soda itself. It can come, it can go and it can change (like it has in this case).

Trust us here, our goal is always to give you guys the best possible experience (while making the game profitable enough for us to provide you all with this great entertainment). I will always be honest, respectful and transparent with you all, and I expect the same in return.

As always, with any updates around the topic, I'll be here to share them with you all.

Love the game Candy Crush Soda Saga. I'm at level 2755 and waiting for the next level. In the meantime, why am I not able to continuously play the "Bubblegum Hill" bonus game? I would be able to play couple times, then I will be prevented from moving on to play it again.

I certainly look forward to this game because of the rewards. I do spend extra money to buy bonuses like Coloring Candy, Color bomb, fish, wrapped candy and Striped candy.

Any thought on having the bonus games be continuously until you get the next level of games ready to play?

I think most of us - even the most experienced who have probably spent some money - need a good stockpile of hammers to continue conquering all the levels. I would rather it be like it was in the past. Bubblegum Hill wasn’t there every day but you could play all day and amass both gold bars and hammers. Of course I like it all the time but not with the restriction.

I’m glad yours is fixed, I am having the same issue with sending lives and I haven’t seen the bubblegum machine in 2 weeks. Hopefully mine will be fixed soon?

Once a day will cut it, if the new episodes are made easier than they currently are - most levels are unachievable if not starting with combos at move #1.

Even with Rainbow bow I used 50 hammers to get through last episode, which is somewhat attainable if you can stockpile hammers, or if you play CC Soda quitting every other game.

Otherwise CC Soda is going to get harder than CC, where missing one opportunity to restock boosters is critical - and harder by far.

Please rethink the overall approach - either get BGH back to its previous state or make episodes hard but doable.

I am throttling back gameplay on CC Soda until the current situation stays like it is now.

Me too. I only play because of the BHG.

Why making the new rule. What’s the point of it. When I have completed all regular levels and only can get once a day the throne, there is no fun anymore to play.
