My biggest accomplishment is always going to be my children, but being an electrician for a major automotive manufacturer and serving my country as a United States Marine are both right up there as well!

    Hi Yosca

I have some time to think about what makes me a unique person. Empathy. I have great empathy for family, colleagues and friends. Having empathy allows me to understand people's needs without judgement. Having empathy also allows me to look at things from different people's perspective and envision me in their shoes.

People do things for a reason and I try my best to understand why so by putting myself in their shoes, I can see and understand how certain acts/decisions are made. This quote from Daniel Pink sums it all for me.

ā€œEmpathy is about standing in someone elseā€™s shoes, feeling with his or her heart, seeing with his or her eyes. Not only is empathy hard to outsource and automate, but it makes the world a better place.ā€ ā€“ Daniel Pink

    Hi @Yosca

I am proud of myself because I passed my roofing apprenticeship almost 40 years ago. At that time there were no women in construction and it was difficult to prove yourself to the men.

When I was no longer able to work as a roofer, I retrained and now work in IT as a software administrator.

I am proud of my youngest daughter, who is raising two children on her own, has a full-time job and still has time for her mother.

In the past 6 months we got a brand new home! My husband and I did ALL the inside work and I'm so very proud of both of us. It was a ton of work and I feel we could be on a home improvement show (except that we started out with all brand new instead of redoing, lol).

Um, ask him a little confusing again.

Maybe the unique thing is, I'm still trying to live together, at least with the sadness that I'm alive.

    After all.

Everything can't be described and written.
