The studio wanted to address the recent change in the Teams section of Candy Crush Soda Saga, where the "Chat" feature has been replaced with a "News" tab. This change has understandably sparked feedback, and the studio appreciates everyone who has shared their thoughts and feedback with us here in the community.
The "Chat" feature, while valuable to some players, did not meet the standards the studio aims for in Soda. To ensure that the game continues to be enjoyable and accessible for everyone, the feature has been placed into maintenance for now. This means that the chat function will be unavailable while other aspects of Soda are being improved.
The studio also wanted to make it clear: this isn’t part of a broader effort to limit features or slow down the game. Improvements to the player experience is always being worked on, and over the past year, updates to improve player experience were introduces, including adding accessibility options in settings, and recently the studio has been testing the ability to customize the color of the backgrounds (on iOS to start with) to make the game board easier to see, as seen below:
For 2025, we have exciting plans that we can’t wait to share with you! While we can’t reveal all the details just yet, we’ll keep you updated both here in the community and in-game.
