Thanks for sharing @Leslie_B! I have a feeling this virus is not going to end that quickly. I heard that someone in China just got it again. They are investigating others, not sure where, that might also have gotten it again. And flu season is coming around very soon.

I also walked to school every day and I lived in a big city. I remember even when it snowed we didn't have school closings. We just put on our snow boots and walked to school and home at the end of the day.

@Sharon_Loose yes those were the "fun" NOT days when we had to do all our math in our head! My worst subject was history because the tests were always the dates of the wars. Who can remember all those dates? When I took history in college there were no dates and I came out with As.

Hello friend @Elsa first day of school down in history as they say. We had a good first day a couple of glitches but where fixed quickly. Class was connected thru Google classroom that went into Google meeting. Teacher gave a code in case we lost connection . Class started at 8:30 with morning pledge of school's alma mater and attendance roll call. Teacher gave class rules what she expects from them and what she is hope to teach them. Then she gave them a schedule on what order subjects where going to be. My son was logged into the classroom as a meeting all morning until noon from noon until 1:15 they had lunch and time browse how to get in and out of subjects. At 1:15 they logged back in for the Physical Education class until 2:00 then went back to class teacher to finish afternoon subjects to log out at 2:45. Class subjects include reading, english, math, social studies and writing. For the first day of online class I say it went better then what I expected. My son liked that he could see his teacher and all classmates but with the safety of being home.

Thanks for remembering to let me know. Do you know how many children actually attended?

Poor kids going to school with those face masks on. My son's kids start school next Tuesday. They will be going Monday and Tuesday morning and the rest of the week online classes. My daughter's kids, one starts around 10th September in class part time and the other starts mid-October but doing online work before October.

@Elsa there's 22 students in my son's class and they had perfect attendance. Here they wanted to do that two days in class and three online but since we are on a high count of Covid19 cases they decided against until after September 27 but still pending if cases go down.

That seems like a large class @Pcj. I hope that all works out well.

In Malaysia, school back to normal but with new norms. Mask not compulsory in school.Everyday before entering school property, students, teachers and everyone must check their body temperature. Many things must be consider at school, Every class provided with sanitizer. Soap and water are available every blocks. Physical Distancing is a must in every activities. Before school end, every table must be sanitize with soapy water spray. Still no eating at canteen. All kids must eat at class with teacher supervise them. That's a little story about school in Malaysia.
