I've seen that our Ms Diamond Lim has provided you video tutorial for level 1055. However, I wish to answer your 2 questions.

How can I clear the frogs or skulls, not sure what they are on this level of Candy Crush Saga.

Frog

The frog can be matched like a normal candy, it will eat the same color candies and grow. After it consumes enough candies the frog will start pulsing. You can click on it once, hover, and bring it to another part of the board you want to clear. It will then create a wave and take the candies around the selected area.

Sour Skull

Sour Skulls are a two-art challenge that takes away that sweet Candy taste! Learn how to tackle these ghoulish gummies and the familiar flavor will return!

Sour Skull tips from our Level designers!

• Take a moment to pause and plan ahead! The Pedestal will give you a clue as to the Skull's travel sequence, by pulsing ahead of the move.
• Do not worry about a pedestal without a skull first. Focus on where the Sour Skull is now and where it is about to land. Remember, you need to hit it 5 times to make the skull disappear.

Why does a level not allow you to use your collected boosters?

Certain levels do not allow starting booster often due to the lack of space at the start or a new element is introduced in the latest level. Sometimes it is because the level can be cleared without using any booster.
