I understand you don't use the double hat + hidden spell approach.
I would like to know at what level/chapter a player qualifies to get a 2nd gold hat so I can inform other players.
You should ask studio about this and please let me know.

Hi @maf34100 I am on level 553. I am currently waiting for Leo to wake up, I still have the gold hat and I believe I may have a hidden spell available to me on the next level (following your instructions) I am very interested to see the results of the combination, especially if there is a hidden spell.
Previously if I haven't found a hidden spell that was available in a level, it would appear again, is this correct please?

@Racoon7 since it will be your first try let's be cautious
- you have a gold hat on stock
- you wait for Leo to be available for activasion
- open a previous level to check a few things
- if Stella wears gold hat
- if the hidden spell comment will appear
- if for both the answer is yes, quit the level
Now you are ready to activate Leo and play your target level.

Hi @maf34100 yes, I have actually already done this, but played the level, I didn't find the spell, and rechecked to see if it would be available to me again. I replayed the old level to see if it was still there, and it was. Again, I didn't find it, so I feel fairly sure I will have the spell when I next play a new level.

Why you don't replay an old level? Just to be 100% sure.
You should always know a couple of levels that you can always win and the hidden spell appears.
You can replay a winable level so many times until you will see the hidden spell comment and quit the level immediately.

I have already done this.
I didn't find the spell during the level, so it is still available even after playing.
I have just double checked it is still available, and yes, it is.
What is the best way now to use Gold Hat/Leo/Hidden Spell combo?
I have been using Leo a lot for the Gold and White stars.

@Racoon7 this is almost one way street.
When Leo is activated you see his stars inside 9-10 bubbles. Use the gold hat as your first move to collect the extra points from Leo's stars. When the hidden spell appears maintain a steady hand and don't change your aiming line much.
