“Rachel, even though we haven’t known each other that long you know how much I love you,” Rancid says. “I think that you love me too and that Is why I have this question for you.”

 He shows her the ring and proposes to Rachel.

“Rancid, I don’t know what to say,” says Rachel. “My feelings towards you have grown but I’m not sure that I can commit yet. It would be neat for us to spend the rest of our lives together, but I didn’t expect this. I don’t know you that long and I would really like to take some time getting to know you better. How about we continue seeing each other and maybe in a few months I will be able to say yes to your proposal.”

Rancid is heartbroken and speechless. He was hoping that she would say yes. Maybe she is right about holding it off for a few months. Could he wait? Is she rejecting him?
