“Contestants, for the third round you are going to be creating your favorite Mexican meal,” says the host. “You have 45 minutes to create the best Mexican meal and your time starts now!”
Mexican! Tiffi has never made that before but she has eaten it so maybe it will work. They all make a mad dash to the pantry. Yeti is going to get daring this time and he is going to do some empanadas, Tiffi is going to make a nacho platter, Kimmy chooses quesadilla and Jenny decides on a burrito.
“Contestants, you have 8 minutes left!” says the host.
Tiffi must be getting hungry because she starts eating some nacho chips while she is still cooking. I hope that she saves enough for the judges.
“You better start plating,” says the host. “Only10 seconds left to go …………. 10, 9, 8, ………..1. Times up! Now let’s hear from the judges.”
“Wow these empanadas are excellent,” says the first judge. “Have you ever made these before?” The other two judges agree.
“The nachos are pretty good but there aren’t enough chips on the plate,” says the second judge. The other two judges nod their head in agreement.
Oh no Tiffi! Why did you eat so many chips?
“Wow this quesadilla is really good,” says the second judge. “It’s a tough round and it’s going to be difficult choosing the winner of this round”. One judge nods his head in agreement and the other judge says that he likes the empanadas a bit more.
“The burrito is alright, but there is something that doesn’t taste right,” says the third judge. “I think it’s the cheese. You should have used colby-monterey jack cheese instead of the cheddar cheese,” says the first judge. The second judge agrees.
“Kimmy, if you win this competition, do you have plans of what you will do with the cash reward?” asks the host.
“I think I would have to go with my sister’s idea,” Kimmy says. “There are a lot of very hungry people out there who just can’t afford to buy food. They need to take care of themselves and their family so I would love to put some of the money towards food for them.”
“That’s an excellent idea Kimmy,” says the host. “No let’s move on to the fourth and final round.”
