Tiffi goes back to the application. She has no trouble answering the first few questions but then when it comes to the next couple of questions she is stumped. What inspired you to become a chef?’ and ‘Where did your interest in food begin?’
Tiffi wishes that her father was able to help her. Just then her phone rings and it’s Yeti calling.
“Hey, hey, hey girl what’s up?” Yeti questions. “I got your voicemail message but had trouble understanding what you said because you were talking too fast. What is so exciting?”
Tiffi shares the details of this competition with her best friend, Yeti. He tells her that he was just looking it over online. He is just as confused about some of these questions that she is. He suggests that they complete it together now.
“Oh Yeti, do you really want to do this with me?” questions Tiffi. “I know how you love to bake and they are saying that it’s ok to be an amateur. Yes, let’s complete this together. What are you going to write for What inspired you to become a chef?’ and ‘Where did your interest in food begin?’ I don’t know what to say.“
Yeti tells Tiffi that he wrote that his inspiration came from his love of eating chocolate! He tells her that for the question ‘where did your interest in food begin?’ he wrote the day that he was born and when he first tasted chocolate.
“I am stumped on ‘Describe your style of cooking, and please describe in detail an interesting dish you’ve created’, Yeti says. “I’ve never done much more than baking, so is that what I tell them? Will they be wanting more than just baking? Like, do you think they are asking if I like American or Chinese style cooking?”
Tiffi tells him that they probably do want to know if it’s one of those or maybe Italian or Mexican style. She asks Yeti what he is going to write for ‘Why do you think you'd be a good competitor for the show?’ She tells him that she is going to write that she feels she would be a good competitor because they are seeking amateur cooks and since she falls into that category she will fit in well with the rest.
“That’s a good idea!” Yeti says. “Do you mind if I write something similar to that in my application? One last question, what are you going to write for ‘What would you do with your winnings?’”
Tiffi tells Yeti that she is going to write that she would share it with the people in the Candy Kingdom. She is not sure whether she’d give some of the players cash so that they can buy gold bars for their game or if she would just help them with some cash to pay their bills since COVID-19 has really drained their finances. Yeti likes that idea.
Hugs and kisses from afar and they both get off the phone to complete their application.
