Someone howls back

After a bit of walking Tiffi suggests that the little wolf try howling again. Maybe they are now within hearing range. 

The little wolf lets out a real loud howl. They wait and wait to see if there are wolves out there that howl back. In the meantime, Chewy has been in the sun too long because he is starting to stick to the ground. Guess that the heat from the sun can melt the bubblegum a bit. 

What’s that? Could it be possible? They hear the sound of a wolf howling.

It sure is the sound of a wolf howling. Maybe it’s the alpha wolf from the little wolf’s pack. He has been very upset since the day that the wolf cub disappeared. His ‘babysitter’ wasn’t paying close attention to him when he wandered off chasing a deer. 

The little wolf is so excited to hear the sound. He howls once more and the alpha wolf howls back. 

“Let’s follow the direction where the howling comes from,” says Tiffi. 

The little wolf starts prancing around with excitement. Tiffi has to tell him to slow down because they can’t run as fast.
