Tiffi looks into the eyes of the wolf as the little wolf looks back into her eyes.

“Little wolf, how did you lose your pack?” questions Tiffi. “I fear that if you don’t find them you might become a lone wolf seeking any pack. You might not be accepted into another pack so we need to find a way to get you back with your pack.”

“I was playing with other wolf pups,” says the wolf. I started chasing a deer. We were being taught who our prey is so when I saw the deer I started chasing after it. When I turned around to go back to the others there were nowhere in sight.”

Tiffi recalls reading something online about grey wolves and their prey.

‘Grey wolves hunt mostly large, hoofed animals including different kinds of deer, mountain goats, moose, elk, and bison. They will also hunt hares, beavers, birds and fish. Most of the wolf's main prey can outrun it, so wolves use co-operation and cunning to catch their prey. Wolves hunt as a pack and respond to signals from each other, they either take turns chasing the prey to tire it, or they split up and chase it into an ambush.’ (Info here

Tiffi has to think of a way to help this poor little wolf. But how?

That’s it! Tiffi think that she might have the answer.

“He has to howl loud enough to be heard,” Tiffi thinks to herself.

She asks him if he tried vocalizing loud enough for his pack to hear him.

He tells her that he tried howling but no one howled back. And that is why he is crying. Tiffi thinks that maybe he needs to try a different way to vocalize.
