Who is Tiffi talking to?

Satisfied with their purchases the two, oh I mean three of them, head home. Yeti goes with them to Tiffi’s house to help her put the food away and then he leaves. Hugs and kisses.

“So, do you want me to do anything for you?” questions the pumpkin. “Oh, I forgot to tell you my name. The blue fairy named me Hugo. She told me why it’s the perfect name for me.

‘Hugo is the Latin form of Hugh, as well as the typical form in Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, German and Scandinavian countries. The name derives from the Old German hugu meaning "heart" as well as "mind," "spirit," "soul," and "thought."

To the modern mind, these concepts are often regarded separately, but in ancient times, the heart was regarded as the seat of all mental facilities. This notion persisted through the Middle Ages and still exists figuratively today in the phrases "(to learn) by heart," "heart in the right place," and "heart set on." (Info here)

Tiffi hears the front door opening and Mr. Toffee walks in. She looks at the time and realizes that she never made dinner. 

“Hi Tiffi, how was your day today?” Mr. Toffee asks. “It was pretty quiet at the candy store today. Next month it will be crazy with Halloween candy.”

Tiffi tells her father that she went apple picking with Yeti and then they went to the pumpkin farm. She shows her father what she got. She tells her father that she came back too late to prepare dinner.

“That’s ok because I brought home dinner for both of us,” Mr. Toffee says. “I’ll get the food ready and you can go take out the dishes.”

After dinner is done, Tiffi decides to go to her bedroom to check on her email. Suddenly Mr. Toffee hears her talking out loud. He isn’t aware that Hugo and Tiffi are having a conversation. He asks her if she’s ok because it sounds like she’s talking to herself. 

“I’m on the phone Dad,” says Tiffi.

If Tiffi tells her father that she is talking to a live pumpkin he will have her locked up! 

The day is over and tomorrow is another day.
