It was getting very late, and everyone left the party to go home to get prepared for Christmas Day. Tiffi bid a mini farewell to her sister and told her they can see each other again sometime. She told Jenny to be careful on the way back. After everyone left, she and Mr. Toffee were cleaning up after the party. They washed the dishes, swept the floor, and cleaned the table. They haven't taken down the decorations yet, not until the end of Christmas Day. Tiffi remembered the mistletoe kiss with Nutcracker. Her face couldn't stop flashing a shade of red when she kept thinking about that. Her father thought that something was going on while he was doing his business in the bathroom and why she felt sick all of a sudden.
"Tiffi sweetheart, why is your face all red? Are you sick?" Mr. Toffee asked with worry, feeling her forehead with his hand. Tiffi backed away, her mind going crazy.
"Daddy no!" she said, raising her voice a bit. She was mentally panicking when she realized what she just blurted out and corrected herself. "I mean, no Daddy. I'm fine"
"Are you sure you're okay?" he asked one more time. "Does that have to do with the commotion I thought was going on while I'm using the bathroom?"
The poor girl began to sweat, unsure of what else to say. She couldn't lie to her father, but she couldn't worry him too much. She had to make him think nothing happened while he was away. Telling him the truth now could break her relationship with Nutcracker since she's too young to be kissed by someone else. She had to think quickly or it'll be over between the two of them.
"Well?" He looked down at the panicked blonde, trying to get herself together.
"I am feeling okay, and no it has nothing to do with that 'commotion' you're thinking about. We were just enjoying the usual Christmas traditions people do every year. Sing songs, exchanging our best memories, admiring the Christmas lights and tree, and drinking hot chocolate!" she tried not to have an ounce of deceit in her voice, and Mr. Toffee seemed to buy it.
"Okay. You can go brush your teeth and go to sleep so that Santa can deliver your presents. I'm sure he'll bring you lots of them!" With that, the small girl ran to the bathroom to brush her teeth. Taking out her toothbrush and applying some toothpaste, she cleaned the icky stains on her teeth and rinsed them with water. After finishing, she ran up to her room and opened the Santa tracker on her phone. It read, "Santa will come to town in 02 hours, 43 minutes, and 56 seconds". She smiled and turned on the notifications. That way, it would let her know when Santa is coming and when he's here at her house. Tucking under the blankets, she turned off the lights and let her drowsiness take over, closing her eyes and sleeping soundly. Mr. Toffee was at the door, watching his sleepy daughter and smiling to himself.
"Good night sweetheart" he whispered, and closed the door behind him.
About 2 hours have passed, it was midnight and Tiffi was still sleeping when her phone made a small noise, waking her up. She rubbed her eyes and saw that Santa will be coming in 5 minutes. This was getting exciting. She would actually get to meet the real Santa Claus and know about his life in the North Pole. She kept her excitement and got out of bed quietly, careful not to wake up Mr. Toffee. She looked out the window, staring at the beautiful night sky. Santa would be flying all around with his reindeer, delivering presents wherever he goes and does not stop. It would be an amazing one-time experience, unlike the Christmas movies she had watched.
A thud can be heard in the living room, making Tiffi snap out of her thoughts and turned to the door. Her phone beeped signaling that he's finally here at her house. She quickly went to the door and slowly opened it, hearing her own heart pounding as she looked around for any trace of him. She quietly tiptoed down the stairs and into the living room where the Christmas tree stood. There were presents under the tree, meaning that he was definitely here. She snuck around like a ninja, trying to find him. When she looked in the kitchen, she froze in her spot, eyes widened in shock.
There stood a big, chubby old man wearing red and white all over, black boots and black belt, and a pair of spectacles. He was eating the leftover cookies from the party earlier and drank a cup of milk. He felt someone's presence behind him, and he turned around to see the blonde girl watching him wide-eyed. Out of all the places he visited, he never would have expected a kid to see him in front of her eyes. Which proved that he is real after all. He looked surprised -- why was she awake at this hour? It would be naughty for a child to stay up late unless he or she needed to use the bathroom. But she did not go to the bathroom -- she was standing right in front of him, her face showing a mix of shock and joy.
The girl stuttered out to him. "You're....y-you're....."
