How This Came to Be - I've always loved trivia, and back many years ago I began keeping an informal database of interesting or funny trivia I ran across. A friend of mine read it and said it was fascinating and I should do something with it (I hate that guy ;). So in 1989, I created a DOS program that would display daily trivia from the database. This was distributed via BBS (one of the forerunners to the Internet). And after thousands of hours of work on it, here were are.
ALL entries are personally selected and written by me. It's not just some computer-generated list of people's names and birthdays. I try to find unusual, odd, and funny trivia that other "This Day" type lists don't include. I hope this makes it more fun to read than just some boring list of birthdays and events.
How big will the list get? - This list is currently at about 14,000 entries which is small compared to many other trivia databases. However, it will probably stay that size, since my focus is more on quality than quantity. I would rather have a few interesting or funny entries, than a lot of boring ones.” (Source)
Tiffi just has to type in her birthday, January 23, to see what it says. Just then her phone rings.
“Hi Tiffi, I just spoke to Elsa,” says PrettyBubbles. “I told her that you and I found out that Miss_Dani’s birthday is this month and I suggested that we make her a surprise birthday party. She loves the idea so she told me that you and I should make all the plans for a surprise birthday party for her. She will make sure that the story is done and then she can give it to Miss_Dani at the party.
Wow! It’s amazing what all of them can come up with.
“How about you talk to the game moderators to see who can attend,” says Tiffi. “I will contact our Friends characters to see if any would like to join us. Let’s catch up tomorrow to create a list. Then we can discuss food, party favors, etc.”
Sounds like a plan!
Tiffi starts calling all her friends. No one is home so she leaves phone messages and goes back to reading articles for the story.
