Second round of judging

“Contestants, for this round you are going to be creating a cake with a beach theme,” says the host. “You have 2 hours to bake and decorate your cake and your time starts now!” 

The four of them make a mad dash to the pantry. Yeti is getting the hang of this and he’s having a great time. Yeti decides to keep with the nautical theme and this time he is going to make it with an ocean theme. 

Jelly Queen is going to create a 2-tier cake. The bottom layer will be like the ocean with waves and on the top of the 2nd cake she will make it look like sand with palm trees and a beach umbrella. She goes to get her 2 cake pans and the ingredients that she will need.  

Something isn’t working well for Tiffi as she looks flustered. She was doing fine when she put the pans in the oven to bake but when she got back to her table she saw the eggs still sitting there. Oh no! She realizes that she is going to have to start all over again. She takes the pans out of the oven and puts it to the side.  She prepares a new batch and puts the pans in the oven. 

“Contestants, the clock is ticking. You have 25 minutes left!” says the host.  

Yes! Tiffi has taken her cake out of the oven and it has cooled off so now she needs to decorate it.  

“You better start plating,” says the host. “Only10 seconds left to go …………. 10, 9, 8, ………..1. Times up! Now let’s hear from the judges.”

The three of them present their cake as they describe the ingredients that they used. It’s now time for the judges to decide who will be leaving next. The three of them go back to their work area. 

“I really liked the way that Yeti decorated his cake,” says the first judge. 

“But Jelly Queen also did a great job,” says the second judge. 

“Tiffi really struggled to keep up and because she had to create a new batter her decorating was lacking something,” says the third judge.  

They decide who they are going to be cutting and they bring them all back in front of the judges table.

“The judges really enjoyed tasting all 3 of your entries,” says the host. “However, there is one baker that they feel didn’t have enough time to fully decorate her cake. I’m sorry Tiffi but you have been eliminated.”

Tiffi thanks the host and judges for allowing her to compete today.
