The video ad feature as all ads and promotional features is still a test feature in the game, which means that some of you can get Lives, while others can get Boosters or other items from this feature.
This also means that the video ads will not always be available and not found in all player's games or on all devices.
So if you at the moment are missing the ads in your game, just stay tuned and keep an eye in the game to see when the ads are back.

These comments are from 3 years ago. I've had ads for a long time, but now they either freeze or they freeze the game so I have to close it completely. Is this going to be fixed or should I just ignore the option to use ads for boosters/lives?

Hi @mariemarie123 Welcome
With the ads if you have had them for a while it can appear that they are permanent but they are not rolled out to everyone at once so the studio will occasionally reshuffle them so as others can enjoy them too
I am sure you will receive them again its just a case of waiting right now 💓

I read Kings response regarding why the ads feature is no longer there. Very disappointed in Candy Crush right now. Taking the ads away, plus the mad hatter and the cinema in events has prevented me from getting boosters, thus gold bars. I'm on level 12,000+ and King has always had ads. Today is day 3 of not being able to obtain the normal boosters on a daily basis. Now I have lost my desire for the competition... not a nice thing to do. Hopefully this does not coincide with the All Star Qualifying round.😔

As soon as you pay for anything through the play store, you lose the ads.
