Hi @Crazy Cat Lad. I'm an adrenaline junkie and the most thrilling and exhilarating thing I have done is climb a 200+ feet water tower as a teen at nighttime. This tower only had a ladder with no circular encasing and thus, no metal to fall back into if you lost your grip and fell backwards. In other words, the grim reaper would be showing up because I had no safety gear. My friend gave up about 1/4 of the way, but I was a 'man on a mission'.
After finally making it up the ladder and onto the 'catwalk' (you know, the circular walkaround), I shook out my arms. Took a walk around and hollered down to my friend. The moon was shining bright and I told him, "One more ladder to go." He freaked and was concerned. I breathed deeply and grab onto the rung that would take me up to the very top of the tower.
I'm halfway up and the ladder begins to curves following the contour of the water tank. I paused and my heart was pumping. Kept my friend updated on my progress and use your imagination on his responses back. I continue and suddenly instead of straight up, I'm climbing rung by rung with my entire front side looking down on the ladder. Yes, a strange feeling and sight to be climbing a ladder that way to say the least. Got to the top and my friend's voice along with whatever he was saying was unintelligible.
Choice time now: consider it done or stand up. The latter meant letting go of the ladder with my hands and chance falling/slipping upon standing up. The former meant I had successfully climbed the water tower, but not quite conquering it in my mind. Every sense was heightened as I choose to stand up. Slowly I inched my legs and feet up to the top whilst having a death grip on the top rung as my body formed a tight crouch position.
The moment had come and outta nowhere a breeze hit. Holy smoke my balance was knocked off and survival mode kicked in hard. Not like it or I had a choice. Upon regaining my balance and breathing, I realized I was still alive somehow. Yes, the warning bells were deafening at this point. However, the adrenaline kick was off the charts and it was now or never. I repositioned my body and this time didn't think.
Moments later, I'm standing up completely on top of water tower and with a loud voice said, "It's done!!!" Hey, y'all come up with something better to say when you know for certain that you'd best get your hands back on the rung asap before a breeze hits again. This wasn't a time to dilly-dally about. I'm crazy, but not stupid. Then again, looking back on such a feat...I may have been both. ๐ฎ

I've been to so many awesome places throughout my life..one of the most memorable places I'll never forget is the 9/11 memorial..while we stood there looking at it..it was so quiet, no one spoke, and beautiful at the same time.
The picture of the ball you see was on the North Tower..where it is..is where it landed.

I remember one summer when I was in high school my family went to Jamaica. We did lots of beautiful snorkeling, but the most adventurous thing I did was climb Duns River Falls. I actually did it twice because we were at that park all day one day. I'm not very coordinated, but there were a lot of people climbing it so always someone there to help you climb over big rocks that were slippery more often than not.

Thanks for the reminder @Diamond_Lim My husband and I have been on many wonderful adventures throughout the years! We have been so close to Icebergs that we could actually feel the mist & see the different colours! My home province of Newfoundland & Labrador is steeped in history so we have visited Cape Spear, the most Easternly point in North America, we have visited Signal Hill where the first Trans Atlantic wireless message was received by Marconi in 1901, we have stood on the ground at L'Anse Aux Medows where the Vikings landed in 1021, long before Christopher Columbus arrived in NL in 1492 & in 2002, while on a boat tour on the Southern shore of NL we watched 2 Humpback whales swim beside us & were treated to this beautiful site! My husband snapped this amazing picture while I was taking a video. The captain told us that whales respond to sounds so we made lots of noise & we were treated to quite the show!
