It might also be because the game has so many glitches and so many times events and rewards just disappear, nobody is trusting King any more. It's not like this hasn't happened before, that you are promised a reward and then it all just disappears or is not what you thought you were promised. People just feel cheated by the game so much they expect to be cheated again.
