You can try player support as Kiara suggested in the post above. I am not sure if they will be able to help you but you could try. Our busy lives are more important than Candy Crush so it can't be helped. But generally yes, you would need to log into the game the day an event finishes to claim the reward.

Hello @aneez411 How come you did not open the app until today? The event finished over 24 hours ago and usually after this time the claim screen will no longer be there, even if you did win the event.
