⭕ Why can't I play in landscape mode anymore? Game too small!
Hello, Crushers!
We know you're busy matching those candies, but you might have noticed recently that you're no longer able to play our game in landscape mode.
You know, when you hold your device horizontally. Now you can only play in portrait mode when it's upright.
Don't worry, there's nothing wrong with your device. We've made some necessary changes to ensure that the content we create for you continues to be entertaining and of the highest quality.
We understand you might be disappointed by this change, but rest assured, everything we do is about making our games even better and even more enjoyable for you.
We always want the game to be fresh and fun. It's just that sometimes we have to remove a feature to make room for new exciting ones.

The Saga map is currently being tested, and there might be an issue where the game might not be appropriately scaled we are looking into this.

Hello Listy there is nothing you can do about the orientation of your game as it is the result of a test being conducted by King. Hopefully you will find that your part in the test ends after a few weeks.

Unfortunately @Marlou2204 that isn't how tests work. You will have to wait until the test is over before your screen is returned to normal.
Hopefully yours and everyone else's negative feedback about this unwarranted change will be made clear to King by our CMs @Novapichu and @QueenB

And there is no way I can contact King directly to ask to be deleted from the test group?
Good question Marlou. In theory I guess you can contact Player Support and tell them how much you dislike the forced orientation. No software should be allowed to override the settings of our own devices without our permission.
I imagine though that they would give you some waffle about test groups being random and how they have no control over who gets them. Personally I don't totally believe this especially as you and a lot of other people have received the test more than once.
To be honest if everyone that is part of this unwanted change would email Player Support and leave a one star review on their app store because of this change then perhaps King would listen. It is clear from how they keep repeating this test (since Oct 2021) that they aren't listening to our feedback here.

I am sorry to say that this is not a glitch, but a test that the Candy Crush Studio team is running for some reason!! We do not know when (and if) it will turn back to the landscape mode 😕😕

moving to center in Landscape Mode used for Portrait Mode.
moving to center during development of New Map on Landscape Mode in early year, Ribbon Banner not work Landscape Mode due to big size as well as Events Icon (e.g. Episode Race, Piggy Bank) at left. could be fit to small size for Ribbon Banner at Center in Landscape Mode.

We appreciate that you’ve shared your experience for this change to only being able to play in portrait mode and I will gladly share this with our team.
We understand that this change may not be optimal for all. Rest assured that your voice has been heard and comments are being shared with the Studio about this change.
I can confirm that some players who are playing through Windows 10 app can still play in landscape but this will soon be changed to portrait as all other devices.
We are always striving to improve the service we provide and your player experience. Thank you again for sharing your feedback and for taking the time to reach out to us.

Rest assured it's not you PC problem, mine has changed too, and quite a few others too, going by the comments in Discussion here. Looks like the game developer is testing a new feature.

I am sorry! But, you are not going to like the answer... Because, the small screen is a change that was brought in by the Candy Crush game studio. And, as players, there is nothing we can do to change it. The studio has decided to keep it and brought in the change to all devices - mobile devices and computers - Facebook Browser version and App version 🙃🙃

The Portrait mode is a "change" that was brought in by the Candy Studio. They have been sending the portrait mode to all devices slowly!
Unfortunately, it cannot be changed back and the small screen is here to stay😕 As players, all we can do is leave our feedback for the Studio to read and hope that they will hear us!!

I am a regular Candy Crush player, and I log into King.com through facebook, playing on ay Windows 10 version laptop.
I may have accidentally changed a setting, as since yesterday, my gaming screen size is reduced, making it less easy to use. The "active" part of the Candy crush game page is now a sort of insert, a small part of the overall page.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice on how to get my original screen size back would be much appreciated

Sounds like you've used the zoom feature in the browser. If you hold down the CTRL key while using the scroll wheel on your mouse you'll get the result you're describing. To reset the zoom just look for the magnifying icon in the URL field of your browser.

Last night, the game still showed "wide-spread" at my PC (playing through FB), now it shows to me like I'm playing on a mobile device I guess. Was this a deliberate change? Or am I in some "testgroup"? If this is one of your "tests", I most certainly don't like it at all. I'm really looking forward to see the game wide-spread again.

What browser are you guys using? I just opened the game on FB using Chrome and Firefox. No resizing. Updated both browsers and it's still fine. Have you tried another browser?
Someone reported the same e-shoe on Reddit the other day. I checked and it was OK. So he tried another browser and said it was good there. 👍
P.S. If you were to use a mobile emulator, you could choose how to see the game - in landscape or portrait view. Both could be resized to fit your whole screen if you wanted to. However, you'd need to commit to playing that way as you'll have no boosters at the start - just your gold bars and progress (and Sam's streak if applicable).
