I am sorry to hear that you are encountering an issue with the Candy Royale event!!
Are you playing the game on a mobile device OR on Windows10 App version? There was a complaint this morning but it was on Facebook Browser version!!
** And, you shouldn't have to close the App every time got bounced off the event๐ถ๐ถ I will report about it to our Candy game In-charge๐๏ธ
** With regards to "losing the timed boosters" also should not happen if you close the App! I will report that too๐๏ธ

Can you please tell me whether you are playing the game on a mobile device OR on PC? If you are playing on PC - is it on Facebook OR the App version through Microsoft Store?

I needed to know whether you are playing the App version OR on Browser. Firefox means, you are playing on browser.
This morning, another player complained about the same issue on their browser too. Our Candy game In-charge has informed that is being investigated and should be fixed soon. Please check this thread for your reference (click on the green letters to open the complaint).
When we are playing on Facebook browser version, we don't have to anything from our side, as the game automatically updates!
