Yes, it sounding more like a bug that won't go away 🤔 If you're on Android device, try the following:
To clear the cache, go to Settings > Apps > select the app > Storage > Clear Cache.
If this still doesn't help, I'm afraid you might have to reinstall the app. That will help clear any bugs.
Keep in mind that y deleting the game app, you will lose any saved boosters and lives so make sure you use these before trying to delete the game app!

Can you confirm that you have tried the steps from the following link HERE? If yes, please give them another try but this time, before trying it, please clear the game app cache and restart your device.
There seems to be bug that keep triggering the region so we need to clear that out before trying the steps again.
