hi there- I have been playing Candy Crush for years and now I am being told there is a 19.99 one time licensing fee. Is this accurate?
Sorry to butt in here but to be fair @Danadaucoin I can see in the background of your screenshot that you are in the Shop in the game and must have pressed on the offer to purchase the "Delicious offer" bundle for this pop-up to appear? If you want to play the game for free you must not press on any of the green offer buttons that appear but use the X to get out of any offer screen, and don't open the shop. Any purchase in the game would require you to have credit card details stored on your phone and I suspect that this pop-up from Apple is there because you tried to make a purchase and your credit card has expired, as you suspect.
No worries at all! It happens to the best of us, and I’m really glad the community was able to help clarify what was going on. These little changes after updates can sometimes be confusing, but the important thing is that you got it sorted out!

There is no one-time licensing fee required to play Candy Crush Saga. The game is free to play, with optional in-game purchases. If you're seeing a message asking for a $19.99 fee, it could be:

this is the screenshot of what comes up on my phone. Thank you for helping me try to figure out what this is. I need to check my other Candy Crush game and see if it’s in there as well.

so - I deleted both candy crush and tried to reload them and I got the same message. I am wondering if it is because my credit card on my iPhone has expired and I haven’t reloaded one.. but I can play the game for free, so that doesn’t make sense, if I wanted to make a purchase then it would be different….

yes! Thank you for helping me! What happened is- I was trying to purchase something like I do every once in a while and for some reason it just looked different to me. I did do an update recently…… who knows. I feel very silly but again, thank you all for helping me.
