New levels are released every Wednesday but I though that the Star Tournament started as soon as someone has completed all of the released levels

why does it seem to me that now I have trouble getting past levels. I refuse to watch ads that are way to long and have trick log offs that lead to their websites. I have been playing this from the very start, and I am about done with it
I finished the event and I received my pin but not the 120 bars or the boosters. Does anyone know why?
