Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know we are still investigating this issue. I understand it's really frustrating that the game freezes or appears laggy when you use the fish, thank you so much for your patience while we're hard at work finding a solution.
I'll let you know as soon as we have an update!

Have you tried clearing the cache on your device then closing the game and leaving your device off for a moment or two this can sometimes help with freezing issues its worth a try

I had the same just happen and reported the issue as well. Totally frozen and lost my fish and game that I almost won. They are usually quick to respond 🙏
UPDATE: they got back to me right away! I did a couple things that they suggested, but what I think may have worked was possibly 1) shut off my device for 10 seconds, and then restart it, or 2) sign out of the game, completely, and then sign back in.
I have since used fish and the game did not freeze. Hopefully that works for you.

Most issues that arised a couple of weeks ago have been fixed.
I'm not sure about the candy fish related issue since we've not seen reports lately. it looks like it's on its way to be solved for all players,I can ask for confirmation on Monday 👍️
From experience, when an event is malfunctioning it's switched off temporarily. It happened with Rescue Buddies and Bake a Cake recently, for example.
Shipmates has been tested in a small group of players months before its global launch and there have been no mentions of Shipmates causing any issues, that I know of. If it was the case, I'm sure developers could switch it off too as they normally do.
They didn't, in fact they extended its duration when it was supposed to end/take a break instead. Feedback from players has been very positive, so I take it it's doing very well🙂

We still have members complaining about the Candy fish-issue (game freezing and I see fish in the screenshot) at the Candy Crush Soda Saga All Helpgroup. So I don't think it's completely sorted. I'm trying to get those people to share their five cents over here. The game on my end still is crashing regularly for no reason (WIN10-app, version 1.243.300.0). This too only started happening when "Shipmates" was introduced in the game.
