A Ventriloquist Act – twins

It’s now time for the twins. Rancid wishes them good luck.

One of the judges asks them to introduce themselves by giving their names and where they live.

“My name is Jean-Luc and this is my twin brother Phillippe. We are identical twins and we are 8 years old. We both live in the Candy Kingdom.”

“And what are you going to do for us today,” the judge asks.

“We’re twin ventriloquists and we have twin dummies,” Jean-Luc says.

“So, I was walking down the street the other day …………..,” says Jean-Luc.

Dummy: You’re ugly.

Jean-Luc says: That’s not how you talk to people. Apologize.

Dummy: Alright. I’m sorry you’re ugly.

“So, what happened when you were walking down the street,” asks Phillippe.

Dummy: That girl is pretty.

Phillippe: Don’t you see, she came with a guy.

Dummy: Why don’t you ask him out on a double date?

Phillippe: Ask him out? I don’t swing that way.

Dummy: Well you’re the one with a hand up my butt.

The dummies give up on the twins and they start their own conversation.

Dummy 1: Everyone used to think the Earth was flat.

Dummy 2: I always thought it was crooked.

Dummy 1: Do you know what the actual shape of the world is?

Dummy 2: Oh, it’s a mess.

This is fun! The dummies continue chatting.

Dummy 1: So, you say you are good at English grammar?

Dummy 2: Yes I am.

Dummy 1: Why don’t you give me an example of a collective noun?

Dummy 2: A garbage can. (Info here)

Then the dummies break out into a song ………….

I've paid my dues

Time after time.

I've done my sentence

But committed no crime.

And bad mistakes‒

I've made a few.

I've had my share of sand kicked in my face

But I've come through.

And I need to go on and on, and on, and on.

We are the champions, my friends.

And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end.

We are the champions.

No time for losers

'Cause we are the champions of the world.

That’s it! The twins have had enough. Both of them put a hand on their dummy’s mouth to keep them silent.

“Thank you, thank you,” says Jean-Luc as the twins leave the stage.
