When I click on Bubble Gum Hill to play, all the levels are checked as if I'm the reigning King and it won't let me play.
It's been like this for several hours... please fix it.

Add a "me too" to the same issue, can provide identical screenshot.

Do any of you other players share high number of hammers by chance (I briefly crossed 1000 a few days ago before losing several dozens in last episode)?

Thanks for raising it and for keeping things tidy (special thanks to @Alessandro_S for helping out!). 

This is indeed a known issue that we are currently investigating. Although you are getting the rewards once dethroned, you cannot play it again since the event stays locked.

Apologies for all the inconveniences and thanks for the patience again.

As soon as I have any update on this, I will make sure you're all informed.
