I have, time and again, managed to play this game and earned thousands of gold bars by the time I get to the really difficult levels (at the moment 4000+). Here are my best tips from my own experience:
For all players up to about level 4000 I would recommend:
- Do not pay 16 gold for extra moves - ever! *
- Use boosters wisely: Do not waste boosters on the easy levels mid episode. If you fail these, replay them and you are likely to pass
- Make sure you win every episode race by playing each episode in one sitting/within a few hours max
- Do not fall for King's psychological tricks such as the super charger, Candy Royale and the win streak. Allow these to expire if a level cannot be passed with 10 gold bars**
- The hardest levels are now at the end of the episodes. Avoid spending gold or strong boosters before you hit the last five levels. To enter the episode replay the first level until the game allows you to pass and don't waste boosters or gold on the unmarked levels
- Use events in the game wisely and avoid spending gold to purchase boosters: It is too expensive. To pass a legendary level with boosters is always more expensive than to pass it with 10 gold bars. So only use boosters that you earned in the game, don't buy them.
- At the end of each episode check that you have more gold than when you started it. If you don't: reread my tips and try again with the next episode.
- To maximise profit play no more than two episodes per day***
- Do not ever let yourself run out of gold. 50 gold bars is the minimum you must keep to be sure to pass the entire episode to win each race
Notes:
*To pay 16 gold either after watching ads or after failing with the first set of extra moves you paid for is always a mistake. You will get more moves added for 10 gold on your next attempt, so if you replay the level you are going to pass with 10 gold. It makes no sense to ever pay 16 gold except if you are promised a big reward in Candy Royale. That is the only time I would spend 16 gold.
**Candy Royale tends to show up again soon if we fail. The tier system seems to have little real impact on the amount of gold you get from it, so failing this event if your projected share is low really does not matter. The super charger is overrated. It helps to get through levels more quickly, but it does not affect outcome of the hardest levels and does not affect gold earned per episode. The win streak bag is actually worse on our last win streak: we get fewer extra moves and jelly fish instead of stripe/wrap or colour bomb, so losing this may be a benefit
***The faster we play the harder the game gets. Ads tend to be offered less frequently for those who get them and events become harder, scarcer and with less payout. Free timed boosters, such as from the Daily Treat machine, are usually used up within two episodes.
