I think the programmers are just sitting on their computers pressing a few keys first thing on a Monday and Wednesday morning to set off the AI to do its job.
This is how I see it, after months of trying out various games of Candy Crush: Mondays they decide which levels to make harder by telling the AI to switch between the easy mode (lots of lucky boards) or the hard game mode (blocker levels all around, with the wrong candies dropping even in levels not classed as hard). Wednesdays they task the AI to create some new levels, mostly full of blockers and unimaginative. They start off with generous numbers of moves and then after testing how many people pass them without problems they reduce the moves and add a layer of blockers. This is what I think the design team do. They probably have another proper job and do a few hours of Candy Crush on the side.
And then we are expected to send them a "thank you" card!

There is DEFINITELY an algorithm that leaves you just one jelly short. I have no doubt about that because it's something I have experienced so often and I can almost predict a few moves from the end when this will happen. I would recommend keeping any free hammers earned for these boards.

Just Wondering what it takes to be overtaken by some random person, Wondering what they must be doing,wait I know,they paid to get themselves to the 1st place ,what a joke,while I'm on my 50th try on the same level..

@MitzRatu I must inform you that the Episode Race is made up of previous players deliberately chosen by King to trip you up and frustrate you. They do explain that these are previous players if you press the "i" button of the event, where it states "You'll be racing against the recordings of other players". King have MILLIONS of players' recordings to choose from to set you up against, so no, it isn't some random person who paid money. (I pass every episode in one half hour sitting, so if you were playing against me you would never stand a chance!) What you are experiencing is King manipulating every aspect of the game to try to entice players to use up their gold and boosters and then spend money on the game.

I'm almost excluding the candy and diamont diaires games because they're a game that just wants you to spend money on them. I'm playing 5 lives in each and there are some illogical levels because you can't pass them.

Hello Narishkite, saw ur post , I feel ya but, just a hint maybe to help ya, always remember to join a color bomb with a wrap cañdy or striped,or even a color bomb helps thru a lot of the difficult ones... I’m on level 3227 and I’m STUCK! All the videos and tips are for a different board. I assume it’s an “updated” game board but it’s impossible. I’m about to delete the app. It’s so frustrating!!
