Yes, "there is a 11 levels cycle of golden hat or the participation of a hidden spell.

"Now in your question, if you have a blue hat, play a level and then you get a brown hat means:

before playing the level your blue hat energy was near exhaustion
after playing the level your blue hat energy was zero and it turn into a brown hat
you did not pay any attention or understand the 11 levels cycle (case 1) of my previous post

"YOU MUST ALWAYS BE AWARE OF WHAT NUMBER (of the 11 levels cycle) YOU ARE BEFORE YOU PLAY YOUR NEXT LEVEL.

"Examples:

when you get a brown hat your are at level 1 and you have 4 more levels to play to get your blue hat
when you get the blue hat you are at level 5 and you have 6 more levels to play and get your 1st golden hat

Hope this helps everyone."

Note that by follow the steps above and using the lower Levels. you can get to the Gold Hat in 7t0 10 minutes. Depends on how fast you need to earn the Gold Hat if you are playing against the unlimited lives clock.

Hot off the press from @maf34100:

The golden hat has a standard cycle of 11 levels.

on the 1st level you must earn the brown hat
on levels 2-4 Stella wears the brown hat
on the 5th level you must earn the blue hat
on levels 6-10 Stella wears the blue hat
on the 11th level you must to earn the golden hat

If you missed to earn the hat on level 5 or 11 you have a chance to earn the brown hat on level 5 or the golden hat on level 12. You should always aim for the standard cycle of 11 levels.

You can play very low levels to complete the required levels except the 1st, 5th and 11th levels.

The Wise Tree will give you free lives which help you play levels 2-4 and 6-10 without winning them.

I played the event Medals in BWS3 for the last 4 years. It consists of 15 groups of major quests and each one contains minor quests. This is a sample from the 16 groups.

Finally I completed the event, I am probably the 1st player that achieves Rank 100 and I received a simple screen as a recognition

I believe that a tedious and long-term effort for this event deserves a better recognition. For example a badge with the words "BWS3 Rank 100"

Updated Players Guide for BW3S Trail Blazers - The Best Place for BW3S Game Play and Strategy

CLEARING LEVELS

You can actually clear one to two levels a day every 4 hours without having to spend any money if you are playing on a PC. This will not work on a mobile phone.
Here's how to do it after completing Card 55 Level 1075:

No matter how many lives you have start your quest by playing Card 1 Level 1. Always take out the blue, yellow and red bubbles at the top and you will clear the level quickly. 32 seconds to be exact depending on your eye hand coordination.
When that is complete, go to Card 55 Level 1075 and complete the level and earn your Brown Hat immediately.
Next go back to Chapter 1, Level 1 and play 3 times. Then go back to Card 55 Level 1075. Complete this Level and you will have earned a Blue Hat.
Go back to Card 1 Level 1 and play 5 times. Takes about two to three minutes.
Immediately go back to Card 55 Level 1075 and you will earn a Gold Hat.
Click on the picture frame at the bottom of the screen (middle button) and then the yellow arrow. It will instantly take you to where you previous left off in your game.
Use Leo's 10x Star bubbles for 50 stardust and start playing by using the Gold Hat first.
Before tackling your current Level always have a Gold Hat in reserve!
On the lower Chapter games you will easily clear most levels.
Once the Level is cleared. Immediately logout and log back in. You will still have access to Leo's 10x bubbles for about 24-21 minutes.
Go to Card 1 Level 1 and complete then go to Chapter 55 Level 1076 and earn another Brown Hat and repeat the process above.
Note, always try to preserve your second earn Gold Hat for the next level. however, you may need that Gold hat to finish the current Level.
If you use both Gold Hats, you can always logout and log back in to earn another Gold Hat. Know that by using this method you will not burn up any lives.
Either way, you can clear up to 1-2 Levels every 4 hours after Leo's 10x recovers.
Note that the more difficult Levels may require a booster or two to get you through that Level.
The Levels do get complex as you go along, but they do keep to keep to a basic pattern. Always play to the upper bubbles when you can and stay away from the lower bubbles. The patterns are usually 10-12 bubbles up but can be as low as 5-8 bubbles. Always have a Gold Hat in reserve and play with Star Cat Leo first for points.

"Wake up the Tree" helps:

For Arcane Bubble play Card 1 Level 4

For bouncing the bubbles off the side play Card 1 Level 2. Clear to the top as quickly as possible and then just bounce the bubbles off the sides. In two passes you can get 60 bounces. Note that if Stella has a Blue Hat, you have to add build off of the bubbles below the start line and work your way down. When she fire off her wand after five hits, you'll still be able to get 30 bounces each time you play.

For Yellow Bubbles Play Card 1 Level 6

For destroying bubbles with the orb play Card 1 Level 6. You can take out 60 bubbles with one pass.

For dropping bubbles play Card 4 Level 49. Unlimited Magic Blasts.

For getting Billy the Ghost up to the top play Card 4 Level 49. Be sure to use the red bubbles after clearing the first stack of bubbles. Shoot the Magic Beam on the right side to start then work your way up. you can reach a maximum of 81 clearing your path up.

For Red Bubbles play ……

For Green Bubbles play Card 55 Level 1075

For Black Bubbles play Card 56 Level 1089

For Blue Bubbles play Card 95 Level 1864

For Owls play Card 133 Level 3634

The rest of the challenges just burn up your time so don't bother playing them. Using this strategy you can almost always get a minimum of 2 Shooting Stars (1) hr. of play earned, 2 Sparkling Blasts (1) hr. of play earned, 2 Stereo Bolts (3) hrs. of play earned, or 1 Magic Beam (3) hrs. of play earned.

Unlimited Sparkling Blasts Card 3, Level 34, Unlimited Magic Blasts Card 4 Level 49, Unlimited Shooting Star Card 5 Level 73, and Card 6 Level 93 Unlimited Rainbow Rush, can also help out.

"Wake up the Tree" UPDATE

Chapter 55 (game 1075) is still all green… alas game 1076 is no longer all red 😫…

Chapter 111 (game 2187) is good for reds and blues.

Chapter 111 (game 2190) is my favorite one, good for reds, blacks

Chapter 118 (game 2325) good for yellow bubbles…it also has purple bubbles.

Chapter 120 (game 2327) is all purple as a point of interest but the Tree has never had an all purple challenge…

Chapter 137 (game 2710) and Chapter 138 (game 3710) are similar… good for owls (180+) both have +5… don't use an extra booster bubble to start …

Chapter 447 (game 8917) good for arcane bubbles

Chapter 459 (game 9141) good for line blast bubbles

Chapter 469 (game 9345) good for 98 ghost levels

My last piece of advice is to create a King account so that your game progress is saved automatically

A TIP FOR SAVING SOME GOLDEN PINS from @maf34100

A lot of players want to get a golden pin and 3 stars on the new levels they play.

To get a golden pin you have only 1 chance and this is when you open a new level for 1st time.

To get 3 stars you have many chances since you can replay a level and get the 3 stars.

But what can you do if by accident you open a new level and you are not prepared to play e.g. you don't have a golden hat and/or a hidden spell?

If you play it will cost you some boosters and/or gold bars to get the golden pin.

It has happened to me twice and the solution was simple; close the game without playing any move. When you will replay the level. having a good preparation. this will be your 1st attempt and you will get the golden pin.

Leo's Cup strategy:

When starting out go immediately to Card 1 Level 1 and clear that level.

Next go to Level 55 Card 1075 and earn your Brown Hat.

Go back to Card 1 Level 1 and clear that level 3 times.

Then click on the picture frame and the Medal's page is displayed.

Click on the Gold and White arrow in the bottom left corner and it will take you to Leo's Cup.

Then play Leo's Cup.

On the very first level of play you will be able to earn a Blue Hat.

Keep playing until you get to the Gold Hat.

Play one level after the Gold Hat. Sometimes you will get a lot of points and sometimes not.

Save your progress log out and then start the game all over again.

Repeat the steps listed above and away you go.

Since Leo's Cup gives you unlimited lives, play as long as you want, but do not try to win Leo's cup. It is a waste of time, boosters and gold bars.

If You Get Stuck on Owl and Ghost Levels

Always look to the bubbles several levels ahead of where you are. Depending on what boosters you have a Bubble Beam can get you up to 20 moves forward. A Rainbow Blast can wipeout a whole lot of all red, blue, yellow, green, and purple solid bubbles. Taking out Black bubbles can group other bubbles together so it is easy to reach your level completion goal. Play sparking blasts and Shooting Stars should be uses sparingly. Stereo Beams are great for taking out solid lines and individual bubble in groups of 1-3.

I always recommend that pausing and looking ahead can help you calculate out a strategy to get to your goal for completing the level you are on without having to use a lot of boosters.

There is always a few seconds lag time when using the Star Cats so you can spare the time.

Also note that it is best to use Leo, first for points, Eri, second for reaching the upper level bubbles where you are at, Lyra, third for getting further ahead when you need to clear more bubbles to get to the top, and Puck, fourth. I have cleared a lot of challenging levels where the color bubbles are mixed using Puck. So each cat has its strengths and weaknesses.

When playing the Spooky Library with Stella and Billy note the following:

It is a 1-3 day game.
It does not matter how may stars you achieve, you get the same reward: 600 Stardust, one Sparking Blast and one Rainbow Rush.
Just take your time when playing and make a Strategy Plan when you go back a level. If you do that you can get through the game by using a minimum of two boosters or 9 gold bars.
I completed the game yesterday and only used a sparkling blast and a shooting star booster.
Always remember to look ahead and aim high when blasting the bubbles. This is true for all Levels.
For me breaking even on the Sparkling Blast and using one Shooting Star was worth getting the one Rainbow Rush.

Ever wonder how the Daily Rewards work? Here's the PC Version:

Basic Start/Reset 1st Round Start: After that: Long Term 2nd Round – Consistent Play:

Day #1: 50 Stardust Day #1: 100 Stardust

Day #2: 150 Stardust Day #2: 300 Stardust

Day #3: 1x Stereo Bolt booster Day #3: 1x Bubble Beam booster

Day #4: 30 min Unlimited Lives Day #4: 30 min Unlimited Lives

Day #5: 1x Sparkling Blast booster Day #5: 2x Shooting Star booster

After 2nd Long Term Round - 3rd Round Consistent Play:

Day #1: 300 Stardust

Day #2: 500 Stardust

Day #3: 1x Rainbow Rush booster

Day #4: 30 min Unlimited Lives

Day #5: 2x Sparkling Blasts booster

GOLD HAT TRICK

The "Gold hat trick is a pretty good one. It is where you already have a "Gold Hat" in reserve and then go on to almost earn another "Gold Hat". That way when you get to a tough level you can play other levels to get to the point where you have a "Blue Hat" and are about to reach another "Gold Hat". At that point go to your hard level, get Star cat Leo's multiplier, and launch your first "Gold Hat" to collect the multiplied points. You should then have the maximum number of points needed to obtain the three white stars for completing the level and continue playing. About halfway up you will earn another "Gold Hat". Use that second "Gold Hat" only when you absolutely need too.

I find that if you can keep the second "Gold Hat" after completing that level, you can restart the game and still have enough time left on Leo's point multiplier to get to the same point again for a second time. That way you can clear two levels without having to use any boosters. It's a great way to make game progress and not get frustrated at levels that are more difficult.

This is my original play strategy without the game costing a boat load of gold bars or boosters is still this trick.

OWL Strategies

Here are three strategies worth considering when you tackle these levels:

Strategy: Seek and destroy

This is the most obvious strategy - hunt the Owls down with extreme prejudice! When doing this, you want to focus on creating matches that free Owls with as few moves as possible by taking advantage of Owls that are already next to colors that they match with.

Another important part of this strategy is to destroy Owls that are as high up the board as possible. Focus on matches that increase the chance of Bubbles falling into the Vortex to make the board move up and reveal more match possibilities.

Be sure to use any special orbs as efficiently as possible.

The seek and destroy method is best used in simpler levels, especially Golem levels – as long as you pay attention to Golem patterns and maximize creating matches with chains of Golems.

It can also work well with levels that contain Spider webs, but it is more effective if the Owls are at the center of the Spider web.

Strategy: Rope-a-dope

When a level is a little more devious and contains a mixture of Golems, Spider webs, and Black Bubbles, it can be useful to simply ignore the owls for as long as possible.

With the Rope-a-dope, you actively avoid destroying the Owls until you have no choice. The focus is on getting to the top of the board as quickly as possible and destroying obstacles. Aim high, aim true and focus on knocking branches of Bubbles into the Vortex with as few moves as possible.

It might sound crazy but there is method to the madness! By destroying the Bubbles an Owl is perched on, the Owl will fly away and find somewhere else to perch. In these situations the Owl tends to fly to Bubbles or other Owls of the same color. The more Owls you have looking for new homes the greater the chance that they will all clump together. Like the old phrase goes, “birds of a feather, flock together”.

This method takes advantage of gathering larger chains of similar colored Owls and Bubbles which you can then clear with a cleverly placed Bubble. It also means once you get higher up the board, you will be less likely to be left without potential match options.

Word to the wise: keep an eye on your move counter and the number of Owls left on the screen in order to strike at the right time!

Strategy: Nothing to see here…

Sometimes it is best to ignore the Owls and play the level as if they weren’t there. This may seem like strange logic but many players have found that by simply getting into the “clear the Bubbles” mentality, great results follow!
